I love this time of year! The air is crisp, the lake sparkles and all of the artists on the east side of town are frantically wiring paintings, sweeping their studios and putting on a fresh coat of wall paint in preparation for the East Austin Studio Tour. I love this event and this year is especially exciting as it marks the 10th year of the Tour! Truly mind-boggling how much the event has grown in such a short time. This year there will be over 350 artists inviting you into their studios, sharing their process and showing their most recent work. The Tour is festive, family-friendly and a great way to jump start your holiday shopping!
I'm thrilled to be a part of E.A.S.T. this year as a resident artist of ARTPOST Studios (#54 on the E.A.S.T. map). ARTPOST is home to 30+ visual artists and is located on Cesar Chavez, just past the intersection of Springdale, across the street from Arkie's).
I invite you to my studio to see my recent body of work. For many months my ideas have focused on visually depicting eroding messages...large, colorful abstract encaustic paintings, resin-coated collage pieces, works on paper, three-dimensional pieces, several smaller works and note cards, too. Whether you are avidly collecting art, are contemplating your first original art purchase, are moderately confused by abstract art, or just looking for a little something "local," I think you will find something here.
